Georgianna Turner Bryant

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Georgianna "Jean" Turner Bryant, age 77, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at 3:50 a.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Ill.

Jean was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in Van, Tex., a daughter to Walter and Lucretia (Britt) Turner. On April 1, 1953, she married William H. Bryant in New Mexico and he preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2009. Jean was retired from Pinckneyville Community Hospital. She worked as a nurse's aid, ward clerk and also as a private duty nurse. Jean was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Du Quoin, Ill. She enjoyed making jewelry, embroidery and dancing (in her younger years). Jean never knew a stranger and made every child feel like her own. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean is survived by three sons, Walter David Bryant of Pinckneyville, Ill., Travis Dean Bryant of Pinckneyville, Ill., and Brandon Dwight (Selina) Bryant of Du Quoin, Ill.; four daughters, Donna Marie (Tom) Rosaita of Las Curces, N.M., Carla Jean (Bill) Bird of Pinckneyville, Ill., Patricia Lynn (Scott) Hutchings of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Ramona Lisa Smith of Coolidge, Ariz.; 32 grandchildren and great grandchildren and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Nora Gayle Bryant; one son, William Dwayne Bryant and two grandsons, Cullen Bryant and Jeremy McDaniel.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
