Crystal L. Downs

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Crystal L. Downs, 50, of Elkville, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Crystal had worked as a clerk in medical records at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was a member of the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Feb. 11, 1961 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of William and Barbara (Stacey) Rozmislowicz.

She married Dennis Downs on Nov. 22, 1980 at Dowell, Ill. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Elkville, one son - Shaun Downs of Fairview Heights, Ill., one daughter - Keri Elmore and husband Jonathan of Herrin, Ill., her mother - Barbara Ferguson of Ely, Nev., her step father - Bill Ferguson of Du Quoin, her father - William Rozmislowicz of Hillsboro, Ill., one brother - Frank Ferguson of Du Quoin, one sister - Paula Kaamasee and husband Art of Ely, Nev., and one aunt - Sandra Foster of Elkville.

She was preceded in death by one brother - Mark Ferguson.

Memorial services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.

Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Spirit of Life Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
