Carmen Sue Kilhoffer

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carmen Sue Kilhoffer, age 65, of Bloomington, Ill. passed away at 3:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 at her family residence.

Services was held on Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:00 p.m. at West Twin Grove Christian Church with Rev. Mickey Fuson officiating. Visitation was held from 4- 7 p.m. on Friday at the church. Burial was at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Williams Cemetery near Tamaroa, Ill. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, Ill. was in charge of arrangements.

Carmen was born on July 25, 1946 in Belleville, Ill., the daughter of Loren Cecil and Georgia Katheryn Ditterline Lemmon. She married John Kilhoffer on Aug. 26, 1967 in Jacksonville, Ill. John survives.

Other survivors include her children: Kevin (Jennifer) Kilhoffer of Greenup, Ill.; Shannon (Shawn) Cornett of Griffith, Ind.; one Grandson: Jonathan Cornett; Brother: Loren (Polly) Lemmon of Huntley, Ill.; Sisters: Linda (John) Bigelow of Imperial, Mo.; Becky (Larry) Smith of Carthage, Ill.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister Dixie Lou Lemmon.

Carmen was a member of West Twin Grove Christian Church in Bloomington, where she served as the church pianist.

She graduated from Beardstown High School in Beardstown, Ill. She received her Registered Nurse Diploma from the Passavant Memorial Area Hospital School of Nursing in Jacksonville, Ill. She completed Parish Nurse training at Bloomington.

Carmen was a kind, caring, and compassionate woman who became a nurse so she could help take care of others. She worked as a registered nurse for 30 years, including 16 years at BroMenn in Normal, Illinois. She often used her nursing skills to care for family and friends who were sick or dying.

She loved to sing and played the piano every day. She loved the ocean and enjoyed walking along the beach.

Carmen read her Bible often, and became a Parish Nurse to minister to church members. She enjoyed accompanying others and playing the piano at church services.

Her children and grandchildren were the great joys of her life and she visited with them as often as possible.
