Joseph Neal Skorcz

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joseph Neal Skorcz, 67, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:56 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Marshall Browning Hospital at Du Quoin.

Joseph was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa.

He was born Sept. 15, 1943 at St. Louis, Mo., the son of Leo Frank and Zettie (Brown) Skorcz.

He is survived by one sister - Rose Marie Pestka and husband Leo of Scheller, two brothers - Ralph Skorcz and friend Mary Loos of Ellis Grove, Ill. and Charles Skorcz and wife JoAnn of Tamaroa, nieces and nephews - Leo Pestka Jr., Diana Majewski, Mark Pestka, Kevin Pestka, Kathy Rulevish, David Pestka, Donald Pestka, Dr. Christa (Pestka) Wong, John Skorcz, Amy Eggemeyer, Eric Skorcz, Chawn Jausel, Charlie Skorcz, Marie Gabriel and Karen Schneider.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers - Leo Skorcz, Lawrence Skorcz, Jerome Skorck and Dr. Carl Skorcz, two sisters-in-law - Alice Skorcz and Peggy Skorcz and nephew - Dean Pestka.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Rosary was prayed at 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Alter Society or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
