Patsy Maxine McGhee

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Patsy Maxine (Kuhnert) McGhee, 77, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away May 20, 2011 after a brave battle with Alzheimer&#39;s disease. Patsy was born April 23, 1934 to Charlie and Elta (Todd) Kuhnert of Tamaroa, Illinois.

She graduated from Du Quoin High School in 1952. She worked for Wagner Electric in St. Louis, Missouri for over 25 years. Her working career also includes being Precinct Committee woman for a number of years for Hamilton County, Indiana. She also worked as a real estate agent for F.C. Tucker while living in Carmel, Indiana.

Patsy&#39;s heart always revolved around family and caring for them. Patsy married James F. McGhee on June 2, 1956 and he survives. In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by two daughters Jaime (Charles) Lee of Asheville, North Carolina and Jennifer (Daniel) Layden of Fishers, Indiana. Patsy had four grandchildren Jackson, Lola and Lillian Lee and Avery Layden. A fifth grandchild is expected in November of this year. She is also survived by sisters, Charlene (Roger) Marlow of Tamaroa, Illinois, Joy (Curtis) Donahue of St. Louis, Missouri, Eileen (Arlen) Hill of Pinckneyville, Illinois, Gloria (Mark) Jones of Tamaroa, Illinois and one brother, Ronald (Dianna) Kuhnert of Tamaroa, Illinois; brothers-in-law, John (late Margaret) McGhee of West Frankfort, Illinois, William (Mary Sue) McGhee of West Frankfort; sisters-in-law Josephine (Carl) Conaughty of West Frankfort, Illinois and Elizabeth (Paul) Culpepper of West Frankfort, Illinois. She was a second mother to niece, Cheryl (Sidney) DeGarmo of Bryant, Arkansas and nephew, Curtis Donahue of St. Louis, Missouri and a special sister to Eleanor (late Robert) Turner of St. Louis, Missouri and special cousin to Sue (Robert) Thiele of St. Louis, Missouri. She also had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James Joseph (1965) and James William (1968). She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Paul and Carl (Mary) Kuhnert; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Ed) Waggoner, Patricia (Tom) McKie and Sister Dolores McGhee.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the staff at Westside Care Center in West Frankfort, who lovingly cared for Patsy in her last years.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. John&#39;s Catholic Church in West Frankfort, Illinois with Fr. Bill McGhee and Fr. Trevor Murry officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home - West Frankfort, Illinois. A rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. Interment was in St. John&#39;s Catholic Cemetery in West Frankfort. A luncheon at the Knight of Columbus Hall immediately followed.
