Joe Jaroski

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Joe Jaroski, 86, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:15 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at his residence.

Joe had been a driller, roof bolter and hoist operator for the coal mines. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a Paratrooper. He was a member of UMW of A, Du Quoin American Legion, Callmakers Association, Rod and Gun Club and an avid duckcall maker.

He was born Feb. 28, 1925 at Dowell, Ill., the son of Joe and Flossie (Privitt) Jaroski.

He married Clara V. Mifflin on July 2, 1947 at Du Quoin and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1990.

He then married Janice Short Dennis on Oct. 9, 1996 at Union, Tenn. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, son - Kevin Jaroski and Lynn Eaton of Du Quoin, two step sons - Roger Dennis of Du Quoin and Dan Dennis of Huffman, Tex., four grandsons - Justin Jaroski and Dustin Jaroski and wife Amanda, all of Du Quoin, Evan Dennis and Tyler Dennis, both of Texas, two granddaughters - Madison Dennis and Morgan Dennis, both of Du Quoin, two sisters - Jean Simon of Du Quoin and Delores Bohnert of Percy, sister-in-law - Joyce Jaroski of Dowell, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and two brothers - Melvin Jaroski and Leroy Jaroski.

Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker and Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.

Friends called from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin American Legion and V.F.W.

Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
