Charles Brooks Trogolo
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Charles Brooks Trogolo, 91, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:55 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Marion, Ill.
Brooks had worked as a carpenter for several years and a government housing inspector. He was a member of the Du Quoin Christian Church since 1953. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W., Du Quoin American Legion, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Carpenters Union and the Du Quoin Zoning Commission.
He was born Oct. 31, 1919 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Joe and Bertie (Brooks) Trogolo.
He married Venita P. Overturf on May 12, 1946 at Du Quoin, Ill. and she preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 2007.
He is survived by three daughters - Jeanna Canimore of Eldorado, Ill., Nora Fann and husband Perry and Nancy VanZandt and husband Lyle, all of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Russell Dean Phillips, Jr. of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Henry Daniel Meadows III and wife Lisa of Du Quoin, Charles Canimore of Galatia, Ill. and Kelley Canimore of Eldorado, Ill., three great grandchildren - William Daniel Meadows, William Canimore and Garrett Canimore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister - Betty Frazer.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Ron Kreid officiating.
Friends called from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
Friends may make memorials to the Elkville Christian Church, First United Methodist Church of Du Quoin or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life and will be accepted at the funeral home.
