He was born on July 15, 1946 to Irvin Monroe Baiter and Florence (Friedrich) Baiter. Gerald was the owner of Baiter's Wrecker Service in Sealy, Texas. He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 5601, and the Austin County Peace Officers Association.
He married Stephanie Shand on December 11, 1980 in Bay City, Texas. and recieved the Citizen of the Year Award in 2006.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Stephanie Baiter of Sealy, Texas. Mother, Florence Baiter of St. Elmo, Illinois. Daughters, Shannon Lynn Glaser and husband Tony of Perryville, Missouri, and Tina Sue Baiter of Texarkana, Texas. Son, Donald Baiter of Huntsville, Texas. Sister Janet Kay Brandt and husband Johnny of Portland, Oregan. Brothers; Ronald Baiter and wife Mary Jo of McBride, Missouri; Edwin Baiter and wife Loretta of Farina, Illionis; James Simpson and wife Nancy of Columbus, Texas.
Grandchildren, Victoria Brooke Worthen, Sara Lynn Worthen, Ethan David Baiter, and great grandchildren, Lillian Choate, and Devin Moran.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Lee Baiter.
