</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Connie Lee Hughes, age 59, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, Ill.

Connie was born on Sept. 17, 1951 in Herrin, Ill., a daughter to Reverend C. L. and Wilma D. (Cobb) McKinnies. She married Francis "Ed" Hughes on Oct. 4, 1973 in Johnston City, Ill. and he survives. Connie was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, Du Quoin, Ill.. She enjoyed cooking, flower arranging and crafting, but she dearly loved spending time with and caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Connie is survived by her husband, Francis "Ed" Hughes of Du Quoin, Ill; parents, Reverend C.L. and Wilma McKinnies of Du Quoin, Ill.; three daughters, Amy (Jim) Otto of Du Quoin, Ill., Shelly (Gary) Aydelott of Ellettsville, Ind. and Heather Hughes of Du Quoin, Ill.; one sister, LaVonna Kerley of Du Quoin, Ill.; three brothers, Chuck (Merla) McKinnies, David (Angie) McKinnies and Pastor Dan (Karla) McKinnies, all of Du Quoin, Ill.; sister-in-law, Marsha McKinnies of Zeigler, Ill.; six grandchildren, Shayla, Paige and Brianne Otto and Denver, Kaylee and Garyn Aydelott; many dear nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Reverend John McKinnies.

Funeral services were held at First United Pentecostal Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend C .L. McKinnies and Pastor Dan McKinnies officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends called at First United Pentecostal Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to First United Pentecostal Church, Du Quoin, Ill.
