Loretta Rose Phelps
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Loretta Rose Phelps, 67, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:05 p.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Loretta had been a home health care provider. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and Sacred Heart Quilters.
She was born April 19, 1943 at Mt. Vernon, Ill., the daughter of Orvil W. and Dorothy M. (Koy) Faught.
She is survived by five children - Rita L. Koy of Du Quoin, Christina G. Blackwell and husband Dave of Kansas, Marsha M. Conway of Pinckneyville, Laura S. Engel and husband David of Kansas and Kevin J. Phelps of Du Quoin, five brothers - Gene Faught and wife LaVonne of Sunnyvale, Calif., Wayne Faught of Centralia, Jim Faught of Metropolis, Gary Faught and wife Jeanette of Rockford and Ralph Faught and wife Rebecca of Springfield, three sisters - Mary Warren and husband Bill of Centralia, Dorothy Newman and husband David of Centralia and Martha Simmons and husband Mark of Mt. Vernon, and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers - Paul, Orvil Bernard, and Raymond.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Prayer service was held at 4:30 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the St. Michael's Cemetery at Radom.
Friends may make memorials to Masses or say a rosary bouquet for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
