Cecil H. Kellerman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cecil H. Kellerman, age 80, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in his home.
Cecil was born on June 23, 1930 in Rice, Ill., a son to William J. and Rosa F. (Ritter) Kellerman. On May 29, 1969, he married Patricia A. Freeze in St. Louis, Mo., and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2009. Cecil was a veteran of the United States Army and served as postmaster in Chicago, Ill., St. Louis, Mo. and St. Charles, Mo., retiring with 30 years of service. He was a member of Wine Hill Catholic Church in Missouri as well as St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and was a member of V.F.W. Post 2210, St. Genevieve, Mo. Cecil loved nature, fishing, traveling, and had a gift for telling stories. He was a kind, generous, soft spoken man, with a quick smile, who loved his wife dearly and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by four brothers, Rudolph (Ella) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill., Wilbert Kellerman of Addieville, Ill., Floyd (Doretha) Kellerman of Tamaroa, Ill. and Harold (Kay) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one sister, Bernice Hagene of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Dottie Bridges; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Carl and Alfred Kellerman; one sister, Marcella Krisby; one sister-in-law, Matilda Kellerman; and two brothers-in-law, Louis Hagene and Max Krisby.
Funeral services were held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment was in St. Mary Magdalen, Todd's Mill, Ill.
Graveside military rites were conducted by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post 2504, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at Pyatt Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Bruno School Endowment Fund.
