Verna Mae Bird
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Verna Mae Bird, 78, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:20 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her residence.
Verna was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
She was born May 30, 1932 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Laura (Moore) Knapp.
Verna married Norman E. Bird on March 15, 1954 at Pinckneyville, Ill. and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa, four daughters- Kathy Mascetti of Du Quoin, Marla Owens of Christopher, Cindy Lunnemann and husband Mark of Pinckneyville and Julie Meeks and husband Dean of Brighton, Colo., grandchildren- Chasity and Alex Cruz, Chad and Melissa Bird, Magon and Cliff Buehler, Stephen Makawon, Brandon Bird, J.R. Lunnemann, Savanah and Casey Brayfield and Tyler Mascetti, ten great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister- Dorothy Frost of Tamaroa, two brothers- Kenny Knapp and Leonard Knapp, both of Tamaroa, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law- Kenny Mascetti, granddaughter- Tosha Bird and sister- Marjorie Downen.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery at Tamaroa.
