Chrystal O. Burmeister, 92
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chrystal O. Burmeister, 92, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Walsh, IL, died June 28, 2010 at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, IL.
The son of Otto C. and Elizabeth (Vestweber) Burmeister, he was born August 17, 1917 in Waldron, AR.
On January 10, 1946, he married Alice P. Anderson in Columbia, MO, and she preceded him in death in 2009.
Mr. Burmeister was an Army Veteran having served in Iran during WWII, and retired from farming in 1987. He was an energetic man with a great sense of humor. He will be remembered most for his generosity and will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
His family would like to extend their love and gratitude to his kind caregivers at Four Fountains, to the kindness and generosity of the staff at Grand Court Belleville, and to Hospice of Southern Illinois who helped ease his pain and make him comfortable in his final days.
Survivors include three daughters-Elizabeth Ann Belter of Belleville, IL, Marilyn (Bob) Benjamin of Fort Benton, MT, and Donna Bracy of Portland, OR; two sisters-Wilma Grover of Chehalis, WA, Fay (Dan) Himes of Phoenix AZ; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, IL, with Pastor Leslie White, Mark Peters, & Nathan Pettigo officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.
Memorials may be given to the Four Fountains Convalescent Center in Belleville, IL or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
