John Marshall Klob
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[John Marshall Klob, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:23 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Marshall Browning Hospital at Du Quoin.
John opened the Western Auto Store in 1958. In 2003, it became Toler's Do It Best. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin. He was an elder or a deacon of the church for 50 years. John was also Chairman of the Board, a Sunday School Teacher, and was a member of the Men's Fellowship. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and carpentry. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was born July 28, 1930 at Farmington, Mo., the son of Knowles L. and Mary E. (Marshall) Klob.
He married Mary L. Kiepe on July 6, 1952 at Libertyville, Mo. and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, one daughter - Joan Toler and husband Donnie of Du Quoin, one grandson - William Toler and wife Corrie of Greenfield, Ind., two granddaughters - Jenna Toler of Carbondale and Christy Toler of Du Quoin, one great grandson - Henry Toler of Greenfield, Ind., one sister - Gladys Oder of Steeleville, Mo., many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Henry Klob.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Russell Ragovin officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
Burial was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends may make memorials to the First Christian Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
