</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Scott A. Mathis, 50, of Ellis Grove, IL, died May 3, 2010, at Memorial Hospital, Chester, IL.

The son of Darlene R. Mathis, he was born May 5, 1959 in Sparta, IL.

On November 10, 1988, he married Karen M. Soma at Jefferson Brks., St. Louis, MO.

Scott was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Sparta Light Metals.

Survivors include his wife of Ellis Grove; three children-Phillip Shields of Red Bud, IL, Hillary Mathis of Ellis Grove, IL, and Nicholas Mathis of Ellis Grove, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Due to Mr. Mathis's wishes, cremation will take place and the services are private.

Memorials may be given to his Family.
