Cheryl Lizabeth Thimmig

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cheryl Lizabeth Thimmig, 64, of Nashville, passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born Feb. 3, 1946 in Christopher, Ill., the daughter of Milton H. and Helen M. Sanders Graham. She married Robert Thomas Thimmig on Sept. 25, 1968 in Carbondale and he survives in Nashville.

Also surviving are a daughter, Amy (Stephen) Barton of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Avery and Josephine Barton; a sister, Gilda (Larry) Hofbauer of Vancouver, Wash. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Thimmig was a 1964 graduate of Du Quoin High School and received her Associates Degree in Business from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She retired as a teller at the First National Bank in Pinckneyville and the Nashville Savings Bank. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville where she was active in the AWANA youth program and the adult women's Sunday school class.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to the American Cancer Society.
