Roberta L. Wilbanks

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Roberta L. Wilbanks, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:37 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at the Crossroads Community Hospital at Mt. Vernon.

Roberta had worked as a LPN at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, Fairview Nursing Center and Fair Acres Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. She was also a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was born May 20, 1926 at Du Quoin, Ill., the daughter of Oscar E. and Zella (West) Maclin.

She married Earl C. Wilbanks on Sept. 6, 1946 at the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2004.

She is survived by four children - Cindy Miller and husband Jay of Centralia, Susan Fulk and husband Dan of Du Quoin, Steve Wilbanks and wife Janice of Du Quoin and Kent Wilbanks of Belleville, eight grandchildren - Mandy Overton-Bialek and husband Paul, Jona Black and husband Kyle, Holly Sanders, Hailey Williams and husband Ricky, Hank Fulk, Amy Rose and husband Joe, Maegan Wilbanks and Eve Wilbanks, one great grandchild - Claire Rose, special friend - Mary Owens and two beloved dogs - Sassi and Sissi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters, one grandson - Dustin Matthew Overton and her beloved pet - Graci.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating.

Friends called from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Diabetes Association or the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
