George A. Malick

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. George A. Malick, of Ashley, Ill. departed this life at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Ill. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at 5:51 a.m. He had attained the age of 83 years, 8 months and 28 days.

Mr. Malick was born on April 14, 1926 at Washington County, Ill. the son of Frank and Agnes (Gajewski) Malick. He was united in marriage to Margaret Chwascinski on May 8, 1948 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, Ill. and she survives her passing.

George was a member of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Radom, the American Legion Post #110 and he served as the Trustee and Road Commissioner for the Beaucoup Township for 36 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Margaret Malick; five children, Phyllis Arview and her husband Dan of Nashville, Ill., Jim Malick and his wife Trixie of Du Quoin, Ill., Darrell Malick and his wife Cyndi of Ashley, Marvin Malick and his wife Terri of Ashley and Bob Malick and his special friend Donna Mikesell of Ashley; three brothers and a sister, Leo Malick and his wife Virginia of Ashley, Albert Malick of Florissant, Mo., Paul Malick of Nashville and Adeline Decker of Madison, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relations and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Malick; two sisters, Annie Konkel and Martha Kozuszek and two brothers, Mike and Steve Malick.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, Ill. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Robert Zwilling officiating and interment in the church cemetery.

Military graveside rites were accorded by American Legion Post #110.

Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, Ill. on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Rosary was held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Should friends desire mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church or School and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
