Wanda Lee Barnhill

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wanda Lee Barnhill, age 84, of Glendale Place, Murray, Ky. passed away on Jan. 11, 2010 at 9:34 a.m. at Murray Calloway Co. Hospital.

She was born in Dowell, Ill. on Jan. 10, 1926, a daughter of Ray C. and Flava Jarrett Porter. She married Bobby Barnhill on Sept. 10, 1984 in Paducah, Ky. She was retired from General Telephone Co. (now Verizon). Mrs. Barnhill worked in the Du Quoin and the Carbondale offices as an operator. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a 40-year member of the sorority of Beta Sigma Phi.

Survivors include husband, Bobby Barnhill of Murray, Ky., four daughters, Mary Ann Wise of Evansville Ind., Patty Baran (John) of Demotte, Ind., Darla Rogers of Royalton, Ill., Sandra Curry (Jerry) of Gladstone, Ill.; two sons, Michael Lee of Franklin, Mass., and Tim Lee of Du Quoin; one brother, Ray Porter (Joan) of Carmi. Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray C. Porter and Flava Jarrett Porter, and a sister, Juanita Dominick.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, Ky. with Rev. Bob Saywell officiating. Burial was in Murray City Cemetery.

Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
