Two arrested after Opdyke Street disturbance

Two people have been arrested following a June 8 disturbance at a public housing unit at 254 Opdyke Street.

According to a news release from the Chester Police Department, officers received the report of a disturbance at that location around 10 p.m. and learned 34-year-old Jennifer M. Miller (of Chester) and 25-year-old Dillon J. Richardet (of Desoto, Mo.) had been allegedly involved in an altercation with a resident of the apartment.

Witnesses reportedly stated Miller entered the apartment without the permission of the resident. Police say that Miller was confronted by the resident, who was familiar with Miller, and a physical altercation ensued.

Statements provided to police reportedly show Richardet had initially been allowed to enter the apartment, but had been asked to leave by the homeowner. Richardet left, but later returned and re-entered the apartment without the resident's permission during a verbal confrontation.

Both Miller and Richardet were arrested on-scene by officers and transported to the Randolph County Jail. Miller was arrested on suspicion of home invasion and criminal damage to state-supported property as a window was damaged during the altercation.

Richardet was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass to a residence and assault.

Randolph County court records show Miller has been formally charged with criminal trespass to a residence with the resident present, a Class 4 felony. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 3 at 10 a.m.

Richardet has been formally charged with criminal trespass to a residence, a Class A misdemeanor.
