Charles Hutchinson Heidtman
Charles H. Heidtman, age 96, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 3:00 a.m. in Jacksonville, Fla.
Charles was born on Nov. 16, 1916 in Charleston, S.C., a son to Edward Perry and Lola E. (Worley) Heidtman. He married Virginia Lee Hickman and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2010. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country as a Tech Sergeant during WW II. He was the division manager for Jewel Companies Home Services from 1937 until 1981 and was a member of the Union Kilwinning Lodge #4 A.F.M., Charleston, SC and Shriners Morocco Temple, Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Gerry) Hegarty of Canada and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Military rites will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, Ill. Masonic services will be conducted at the cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
