Special meeting of Du Quoin school board to discuss bids, employ Dist. 300 personnel

The Du Quoin Board of Education meets in special session at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to consider the awarding of bids for summer work in the district, to accept a notice of retirement and to fill vacancies in the district.

The board will consider bids for asphalt sealing and energy efficient exterior lighting.

The board will also get an update on funding considerations for K-12 schools in Illinois.

The board will consider the resignation of Ryan Heape as assistant Du Quoin High School girls volleyball coach effective immediately.

The board has received a retirement request from Donna Davison effective at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

The board will go into executive session to consider the employment of personnel. The vacancies include seventh grade mathematics teacher, high school mathematics teacher, high school driver's education teacher, High school/elementary special education teacher and middle school instructional aide.
