Red Hawk opening day is Friday
Red Hawk golf course--now Red Hawk Golf & Grille-- will host a 10th Anniversary opening day celebration this Friday, April 15. Chris Sloan is providing entertainment and an affordable buffet awaits golfers and non-golfers alike. There's a Golf Scramble at 5.30 - registration at 5 p.m.
The 10th anniversary also comes with a "once in a lifetime offer" for new members, $450 for a family membership and $325 for an individual membership. Breslin says, "It's great way to get kinds involved in golf, crates quality family time with no distractions, make new friends, a great place for business interaction and the exercise can add years to your life," he said. For more information, call the clubhouse at 357-8712.
Dan looks back on the decision to move here 10 years ago. "We have no regrets moving here from Florida. When people ask, why we moved; our answer is Perry County is the perfect place to raise a family, make lifelong friends, and find the proper balance between family, faith, work and play," Breslin said.
"We found our future in an unlikely venture; a golf course in need of some tender loving care and along the way made excellent friends and found a community lifestyle that welcomed us with open arms; especially the patrons and employees that make the Red Hawk Golf and Grille the success it is today. We are optimistic and driven to succeed with the help of the Hawk family. We take our role in the community seriously, and like many of us, we are involved in our community and its institutions, he continues.
"I'm a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of Pinckneyville Strategic Planning Committee as well as a member of our church, St. Bruno's parish council while Michelle was on the Pinckneyville High School Board where she was instrumental in the construction of our beautiful new school. Michelle was also the International Trade Specialist for SIU's Small Business Assoc. until recently and on a happy note, Michelle, just landed a job in St. Louis with the Square Corp.," he continues.
"It is hard to believe we've been part of our community for 10 years, how time flies, our daughters have grown up here and it seems like only yesterday we were introduced to all of you in the 2006 Du Quoin Call progress report. Here's to all of our community's continued success. Come join our Opening Day Celebration on April 15 where we share some of our success with people like you, who make Perry County the sparkling gem it is," he adds.
"Not able to play? Come enjoy the fellowship, good food and dynamite entertainment. As always, we thank you for your time and many contributions to the Hawk. May God bless you and your family as he has blessed us…" Breslin said.
