Stoker returned to Randolph County

After four days on the lam, and another seven in a Missouri jail cell, 34-year-old Jason Michael Stoker was returned to Randolph County late Wednesday night.

Randolph County Sheriff Shannon Wolff confirmed Stoker, of Chester, was booked into the County Jail, where he has a bond of $250,000 on a charge of aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer.

Stoker reportedly waived his extradition rights, clearing the way for his return. He was captured Nov. 2 in St. Louis after a "multi-agency" operation, according to previous statements made by Randolph County State's Attorney Jeremy Walker.

Stoker is alleged to have failed to pull over for Chester Police Department Officer James Brockmeyer on Oct. 28 and the ensuing pursuit resulted in Brockmeyer's single-vehicle, rollover accident on Palestine Road that fatally injured the officer and volunteer firefighter.

Brockmeyer, 22, was laid to rest on Nov. 4, with more than 85 law enforcement, fire and first responder agencies paying their respects at his funeral services.

He was only 10 months into his career as a police officer, a longtime dream of his.
