American Idol journey ends for Amelia but untold opportunities certainly ahead

Five more singers were eliminated from the competition during American Idol's episode on Thursday night including Du Quoin's red-haired sweetheart Amelia Eisenhauer, but untold opportunities lie ahead for this great singer and fiddle player after this national exposure.

Others eliminated from the semi-finals were Adam Lasher, C.J. Johnson, Kory Wheeler and Shelbie Z.

The judges - Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. - were given all the power in the second week of the top 24 round. Last week they sent five singers home and they had to do that again this week to reach the final 14 contestants in the competition.

Amelia Eisenhauer was first up and joined forces with country superstar Kellie Pickler to perform an awesome rendition of Sara Evans' jam "Suds In The Bucket." The two proved to be a perfect match for each other, with Kellie bringing some extra star power to the stage while Amelia showed off her impressive violin skills. Overall, the duo appeared to earn high marks from the judges, with JLo adding, "Kellie was a really good fit for you and it showed in your performance. She was the perfect match for you."

Finalists go to the live rounds on the Fox network next week.
