Mashall Browning Introduces New Internal Medicine, Pediatric Physician
Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin is pleased to announce the addition of Amy Gerwe, M.D., Internal Medicine-Pediatric physician, to the medical staff at Marshall Browning Hospital. Dr. Gerwe, who is board certified in pediatrics, will join the medical practice at the Marshall Browning Medical Clinic, located across from the hospital at 900 North Washington Street, Du Quoin. She will begin accepting appointments on May 9. Dr. Gerwe will join Gladstone Tucker, M.D., Internal Medicine/Geriatrics; Richard Parks, M.D., Psychiatry; Danielle Klump, Family Nurse Practitioner; and Heather Rice, PA-C, Family Practice. She will also work as part of the new hospitalist team provided through Morthland College Health Services (MCHS).

Dr. Gerwe will treat a wide spectrum of illnesses in adults and children. She will also administer wellness checkups, school and work physicals. She has experience and special interests in combating obesity in children and adolescents.
A native of Johnston City, Illinois, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Champaign/Peoria, Illinois. She completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Louisville and Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Gerwe added, "I always knew that I wanted to return home to live and work in southern Illinois." She and her husband, who is a pediatrician, enjoy raising their children in southern Illinois. Her interests and hobbies include family, raising her children, and going on "adventures" with her husband.
