Expect Elverado to ask Du Quoin to reconsider

Next year's Elverado High School football players need a team to play with and it's own district isn't large enough to field a team.

After the Du Quoin Board of Education voted last month not to renew its two-year agreement with Elkville, the Elverado board is doing two things: 1.) asking Du Quoin to reconsider, and 2.) looking for a new partner.

The Elverado School District hosted a special informational meeting for parents and players this week to get suggestions.

Murphysboro, Pinckneyville, and CZR are among those being considered. A letter of reconsideration was also sent to the Du Quoin school district. The board is hoping to identify a football partner to co-op with in the next 30 to 60 days.
