Du Quoin High School enrollment drops below 400 for first time

The newspaper understands that the enrollment at the Du Quoin High School has dropped to below 400 for the first time in anyone's memory.

The 2011-2012 housing numbers reported to the Perry-Jackson County regional superintendent's office showed an enrollment at DHS of 430 students last year.

That compares to an average daily enrollment of between 385 and 395 this year.

Here is a breakdown of district enrollments at this time:

Elementary School: 600 (includes Tri-County Pre K)

Middle School: 405

High School: 383

Other program: 62
