BOYS BASKETBALL: Falcons defeat Zeigler-Royalton, 61-53

Luke Jones scored 14 of his team-high 23 points in the fourth quarter on Friday against Zeigler-Royalton, and Elverado finished strong in their 61-53 victory. The Falcons also got 21 points from Justin Sarensen.

EHS had an 11-2 lead after the first quarter, but led by just one at the half and 39-37 after three. But Jones, Sarensen and Tyler Funk combined on a 22-point final frame for the Falcons.

Funk finished with 9 points, Alec Valerius had 6, and Sage Sarensen had 2.

Elverado (7-10) hosts Century on Monday in Elkville. The Falcons then have a pair of road games this weekend - first at Egyptian on Friday, then at Cobden Saturday night.
