Perry County Sheriff's blotter

The following incidents were obtained from Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

Nov. 13

Deputies responded at 6:13 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 51 at Idyle Wild Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Chas A. Black, 28, of Du Quoin was traveling on Rt. 51 when it struck a deer. Black was not injured. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

Nov. 14

Deputies cited Shane M. Migues, 33, of New Iberia, La., for speeding following a traffic stop at 4:55 a.m. on Rt. 154 at Eagle Road.

Deputies responded at 6:02 a.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 13-127 near Greens Market Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Katie L. Russell, 34, of Pinckneyville was traveling on Rt. 13-127 when it struck a deer. Russell was not injured.

Deputies responded at 4:06 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 14 near Sweetgum Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Haley D. Williams, 17, of Du Quoin was traveling on Rt. 14 when it struck a deer. Williams was not injured.

Deputies responded at 5:46 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 13 near Fern Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Tracy A. Hayden, 54, of Du Quoin was traveling on Rt. 13 when struck a deer. Neither Hayden nor a passenger, 62-year-old Janice A. Hayden, was injured.

Deputies responded at 6:43 p.m. to reported traffic crash on Rt. 51 at Idyle Wild Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Christopher L. Messer, 27, of Elkville was traveling on Rt. 51 when it struck a deer. Neither Messer nor a passenger, 26-year-old Nicole L. Messer, was injured. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

Nov. 15

Deputies responded at 8:12 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 154 near Pintail Road. The investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Lindsey A. Hagene, 22, of Sesser was traveling on Rt. 154 when it struck a deer. Hagene was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
