No reported injuries in Shawneetown Trail crash

<p dir="ltr"><span>A two-vehicle accident on Shawneetown Trail east of Chester Road resulted in no reported injuries at the scene.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>According to the Randolph County Sheriff's crash report, a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu - driven by 72-year-old Betty Rodgers, of Ava - was heading westbound on Shawneetown Trail in the eastbound lane.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>A 2002 Ford F-150, driven by 65-year-old Cecil Heggemeier of Steeleville, was traveling eastbound on Shawneetown Trail and attempted to get out of the way of the Malibu to avoid a head-on collision.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>In doing so, both vehicles struck each other on the right front side. Rodgers was ticketed for improper lane usage.</span>

<p dir="ltr"><span>The Steeleville Fire Department and MedStar Ambulance responded to the accident, which was reported at 2:25 p.m.</span>
