SWIYFC playoff schedule released
<p dir="ltr"><span>On Monday evening, the Southwestern Illinois Youth Football Conference (SWIYFC) released its playoff pairings.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>According to Chester Stingers officials, each team plays in a four-team bracket. Seeds 1-4 will play for the championship, while 5-8 will play in a bracket and so on.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The overall No. 1 seed gets home field advantage along will hosting the rest of the brackets' second round games.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The No. 2 seed gets home field in the first round unless the No. 3 seed only had three home games during the regular season. In the case of Chester's freshman and/or sophomore teams, if the No. 1 seed loses, Chester would host the championship game as the No. 2 seed.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The schedule is as follows. All games are played on Sunday, Oct. 30.</span>
<p dir="ltr">Varsity:
<p dir="ltr"><span>No. 7 Chester (1-7) at No. 6 Freeburg (2-6), 4 p.m. Winner will play Sparta (4-4) the following week in Columbia.</span>
<p dir="ltr">Junior Varsity:
<p dir="ltr"><span>No. 10 Pinckneyville (1-7) at No. 9 Chester (1-7), 2 p.m. Regardless of outcome, this will be the last game of the season for the two teams.</span>
<p dir="ltr">Sophomores:
<p dir="ltr"><span>No. 2 Chester (7-1) at No. 3 Red Bud (6-2), 1 p.m. Winner will play winner of No. 1 seed Freeburg (8-0) and Dupo (6-2) for the championship the following weekend.</span>
<p dir="ltr">Freshmen:
<p dir="ltr"><span>No. 3 Dupo (6-2) at No. 2 Chester (7-1), Noon. Winner faces winner of No. 1 seed Red Bud (8-0) and Pinckneyville (6-2) for the championship the following weekend.</span>
