CHS athletics offering gold card fundraiser

The Chester High School Athletic Department has brought back an old-time favorite to CHS this year.

After several years of absence, CHS athletes are selling the very popular discount cards again this fall.

The 2016-17 edition replaces the former "Booster Club Discount Cards" sold in the past.

A professional agency, Adrenaline Fundraising, has come on board to help CHS make this sale a huge success.

"These cards sell themselves," said Chester High School Athletic Director Mike Coffey. "Everybody has been asking about why we haven't had any Booster Cards lately and this new program has a value of $240 on each card in addition to some free offers."

The new cards cost $20 each and feature deals from 23 different businesses. Most businesses are local, however a few are regional or national businesses.

Included are deals from Tequilas, Beef 'O' Brady's, Skooter's South, Bert's Auto Service, Burger King, Casey's General Store, Chester Eagles, Chester Video, Chili's, Dairy Queen, Dominos, Farmhouse Café & Bakery, Fashion Flair, Hardees, McDonalds, Reid's Harvest House, Rough House Pizza, Smoking Double Barrels BBQ, Sonic, Subway, Taco Bell, Tequila's and Treasured Memories.

This year's card also has tear-off sections that are good for great one-time deals such as a free two-topping, thin crust, medium pizza at Rough House Pizza with any purchase.

At Casey's General Store - with the purchase of any large specialty pizza - a customer can receive a free medium one-topping pizza.

Finally, at Dick's Sporting Goods, there is a one-time offer of $10 off any in-store purchase of $50 or more.

In addition there are special ticket prices for Blues hockey games at blues.nhl.com/gonfp, special offers for Cardinals baseball games and more.

The cards are good until July 31, 2017.

"These cards are great," Adrenaline Fundraising Agent Megan Belyew, said. "They will sell themselves.

"In addition to the great deals listed on the cards, student-athletes can also earn special prizes for selling various numbers of cards."

If a student-athlete sells 10 cards, he or she will receive a free DriFit shirt. Fifteen cards sold earns the athlete the shirt, plus a money bag.

Twenty cards sold earns the athlete the shirt, money bag and a custom hoodie. Twenty-five cards sold earns the athlete the shirt, money bag, and the student's name will be imprinted on the custom hoodie.

Thirty cards sold earns the shirt, the money bag, the custom hoodie with name imprinted on it, four free tickets to the October 2 St. Louis Cardinals game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and two vouchers to a 2017 game of that person's choice.

Finally, if a student-athlete sells 50 discount cards, he or she receives all of the above, plus a set of Beats Wireless Headphones or $100 cash.

The sale takes place through September 9. Cards can be paid for with cash or check.

Checks should be made out to CHS Athletics and all money must be turned in to the respective coaches by September 9.

Each athlete is required to sell at least 10 cards and profits will be given to the respective sport in which the athlete is involved.

Anyone who has questions about the program is encouraged to call Mike Coffey at 618-826-2302 or Megan Belyew at 636-288-5997.
