Two injured in head-on collision
<p dir="ltr">Two Lenzburg residents were injured in a July 14 head-on collision at the intersection of State Route 4 and County Road 18.
<p dir="ltr"><span>According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office crash report, a 2011 Dodge 1500 - driven by 53-year-old Stewart T. Gillette, of Marissa - was making a left turn onto County Road 18 from the turn lane on Route 4.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>A 2005 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 18-year-old Brandon S. Bearden, was stopped at the stop sign at that intersection.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>The report states Gillette struck the Malibu head-on as he completed his turn onto County Road 18. Both Bearden and his passenger, 41-year-old Lisa M. Hundelt, reported injuries and were transported to Sparta Community Hospital via MedStar Ambulance.</span>
<p dir="ltr"><span>Gillette was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.</span>
