Mustang and Corvette Show getting closer
<p class="p1">The third annual Andy's Autobody Mustang and Corvette Show is set for Aug. 14 at Chester High School.
<p class="p1">"It's grown by more or less of the promotion of it and getting out and talking about it," said event promoter Tom "Lil' Governor" Moll. "We updated the trophies last year to make them better, I think that's our main thing."
<p class="p1">This year's event is geared toward Veterans, will all proceeds to benefit VFW Kaskaskia Post 3553 in Chester.
<p class="p1">"I'd like to invite everybody out to support the Veterans," Moll said. "The Honor Guard will walk through the car show and Red Dot will have its big American flag out.
<p class="p1">"Jackie Hopkins will also be singing the national anthem."
<p class="p1">Moll said raffle tickets are currently being sold for the toolbox that will be raffled off on Sept. 10 during the Popeye Picnic.
<p class="p1">Entry fee for the event is $15, while display only is $10. Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 14, with awards to be presented at 3 p.m.
