Chester woman hurt in two-vehicle accident

<span>A 53-year-old Chester woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Monday on Shawneetown Trail at Palestine Road.</span>

<span>According to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office crash report, Georgia Kloth was eastbound on Shawneetown Trail in a 2007 Dodge Dakota approaching the intersection with Palestine Road.</span>

<span>The driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina, 20-year-old Elizabeth Deien, was northbound on Palestine Road and failed to see the approaching Dodge.</span>

<span>Deien then proceeded into the intersection, where the collision occurred. Neither Deien nor the passengers in her vehicle - 45-year-old Lisa McKee and 17-year-old Bo Birkner - were injured.</span>

<span>All three occupants of the Lumina are from O'Fallon, Ill.</span>

<span>Kloth was transported to Chester Memorial Hospital for treatment. Deien was cited for failure to yield.</span>

<span>The accident was reported at 3 p.m. with Deputy Eric Hamilton responding.</span>
