WEEKEND: 3 Things to Do

SPRING FLING

The City of Chester's Spring Fling and Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Several inflatables, games and prizes will also be featured. Children-focused tattoos will be provided by Buena Vista National Bank.

Times for the Easter egg hunt are as follows:

Infant-2: 10:30 a.m.

3-5 years: 10:45 a.m.

6-8 years: 11 a.m.

9-10 years: 11:15 a.m.

EASTER EGG HUNT

The Steeleville Jaycees will once again hold their annual children's Easter Egg Hunt in the city park across from St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m with a rain date of March 26.

The age range will once again be infant to 10 years old and the age groups will have staggered starting times to allow parents to take pictures in multiple groups.

There will be prizes given out for finding "special" eggs and each child receives a goody bag and gift from First National Bank of Steeleville while supplies last.

The Easter Bunny will also be in attendance for pictures.

BENEFIT DINNER/DANCE

The Sparta Eagles (112 E. Main St.) will host a benefit dinner and dance for Johnnie Robison on Saturday, March 19.

The dinner and dance will begin at 5 p.m., but an indoor yard sale will take place from 8 a.m. until noon. An auction will also take place at 2 p.m.

The chicken dinner, with sides, is $10 and all-you-can drink draft beer for $20.

Other featured events include a 50/50 raffle and silent auction during the dance, with a raffle drawing for a Barrel of Booze at 8 p.m.

Live music by Southern Thunder. All proceeds are to help offset medical expenses.
