FISH FRY
The Chester Knights of Columbus will be hosting a fish fry Friday benefiting the St. Mary's 20th Annual Gala Dinner Auction.
Plates are $10/person for All-You-Can-Eat, with carryouts available. Call 826-3316 to order.
Menu includes regular fish, cajun fish, fried shrimp, french fries, baked potato, baked beans, macaroni cheese and tomato, and coleslaw.
Desserts will also be available, donated by parents of St. Mary's School.
CEO SHOWCASE
The Randolph County CEO class is having its "A Showcase of Randolph County" event on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta.
"The Showcase is a fundraiser that will allow the CEO class to raise startup money to launch their individual businesses at the end of the school year," said Patrick Rohlfing, head of social media.
"Raising the wealth of our community is all about the creation of jobs," added Stephen Holiday, advertising manager. "The Showcase will assist us in doing that."
Tickets are $15 for individuals and $25 for couples. The event is business casual and teens 13-18 are welcome.
A 50/50 raffle, silent auction and attendance prizes will also be featured.
SPARTA TORRENCE TOURNAMENT
Come see the future of boys basketball in the region play in the 96th annual freshman/sophomore Sparta Torrence Tournament.
Championship games begin Saturday at 9 a.m. with the consolation championship, while third place will tip off at 10:15 a.m.
The championship game will take place at 11:30 a.m. Teams in the tournament are Chester, Columbia, Freeburg, Nashville, Okawville, Pinckneyville, Sparta and Trico.
