Semi rollover briefly shuts down Route 150
No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle rollover last Friday on Route 150 near Briar Hill Road outside of Chester.
The highway was briefly closed in both directions while first responders attended to the accident.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff's crash report, a 2003 Mack tractor-trailer - driven by 45-year-old Alan Kane of Coulterville - was westbound on Route 150 when it exited the right side of the roadway and overturned, spilling coal into a nearby field.
The report states that Kane told first responders that he did not see a vehicle that had stopped in front of him and after emergency braking, he decided to choose the ditch rather than strike the vehicle.
Kane was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The accident was reported at 1:38 p.m., with Deputy Shane Rinehart responding.
