Steeleville woman injured in forklift collision

<span>In a Monday news release, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said a Steeleville woman was involved in a traffic accident with a forklift on June 11.</span>

<span>Denise Reiss, 58, was driving a Chevrolet Equinox on Highway 4 northwest of Rock Crusher Road when she rear-ended a forklift driven by 17-year-old Ernest Schlabach, of Campbell Hill.</span>

<span>The forklift was turning into a private yard off Highway 4.</span>

<span>The Equinox sustained major damage and Reiss was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The forklift sustained very minor damage and Schlabach was not injured.</span>

<span>No citations were issued as a result of the accident, which occurred at 4:34 p.m. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies were assisted on scene by the Jackson County Ambulance Service and Campbell Hill firefighters and first responders.</span>
