Accident sends Evansville woman to hospital

<span>CHESTER -- A Saturday morning accident on Mill Street in Chester that sent an Evansville woman to the hospital with undisclosed injuries was apparently DUI-related.</span>

<span>According to a news release from the Chester Police Department, Chester police officers were called to the scene of a single-vehicle traffic crash on Mill Street, near the Ardent Mills milling facility, at 1:15 a.m.</span>

<span>Upon arrival, police discovered that a 2015 Chevrolet four-door passenger car, driven by 32-year-old Amanda L. Woolsey of Evansville, Ill., had apparently struck a utility pole.</span>

<span>Firefighters with the Chester Fire Department was called to the scene, along with workers with Ameren Illinois in reference to downed power lines.</span>

<span>MedStar Ambulance transported Woolsey from the scene to Chester Memorial. She was later transported to a St. Louis-area hospital as a result of her injuries. </span>

<span>Police have submitted charges against Woolsey to the Randolph County States Attorney's office for driving under the influence of alcohol. </span>
