Rollover wreck on Route 3 results in fatality

<span>Law enforcement and emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident at 1:49 a.m. Monday on Route 3 near the intersection of White Lane in rural Jacob in Jackson County.</span>

<span>According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, a 1998 Dodge pickup was southbound on Route 3 and left the roadway, striking a concrete culvert. The pickup then rolled over and ejected two occupants from the vehicle.</span>

<span>The occupants were identified as Chester residents Donald D. Randolph, 50, and Robert A. Parker, 52. Neither individual was wearing a seatbelt.</span>

<span>The Jackson County Ambulance Service transported both individuals to a local hospital, where Randolph was pronounced dead due to injuries sustained in the accident.</span>

<span>Parker suffered serious injuries and was transported to a St. Louis-area hospital for further treatment.</span>

<span>An accident reconstruction officer from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and is investigating the crash.</span>
