Du Quoin family returns from vacation to find man dead in their home

A Du Quoin family returned over the weekend from "being gone a few days" to find a 22-year-old man dead in thier 705 North Line Street home.

Perry County Coroner Paul Searby identified the man as Dylan J. Fann. He was pronounced dead at 12:24 a.m. Sunday at the home of Ricky Dean.

An autopsy was performed on Monday in hopes of determining the cause of death, but it may be several weeks before that information becomes available.

Chief of Police Jamie Ellermeyer said his officers are trying to piece together what happened.

Chief Ellermeyer said he now believes that unbeknownst to Dean another family member told Fann he could stay in the house while the family was out of town under the condition that he was out of the house by the time the family got back.
