Title insurance is last piece of paper needed for new hospital

Hospital Administrator Tom Hudgins reported that the last piece of paperwork needed by USDA and AgStar to finalize their parts in the construction of a new building on White Walnut Road is the title insurance document from Roe Abstract.

Hudgins said AgStar indicated they were expecting the document by close of business on Monday, Nov. 4, but had not yet received it at 6:30 p.m.

The board asked Hudgins to check on the status of the document first thing Tuesday and to reach out to Roe Abstract to move things along if necessary.

Once AgStar receives the title insurance document, it will be sent to USDA. USDA attorneys will review the title insurance document and some other paperwork before writing the closing instructions. Once the closing instructions are ready, Pinckneyville Hospital will accept them. At that time, a pre-construction meeting will be held then a notice to proceed issued.

Hudgins estimated it would take the attorneys two weeks to prepare the closing instructions.

Board Chairman John Shotton worried that the weather would not hold out long enough for substantial work to be done on the project this year.

Hudgins said the Construction Manager from Robins Morton is returning to Pinckneyville this week and will remain until the project is finished.
