Cherry Lake resident Vanessa Fleming takes her life at lake home

On Wednesday Sept. 18, 2013 at approximately 12:54 p.m., the Perry County Sheriff's Office received a call reference a possible gun shot on Steven Lane in St. John's.

Deputies responded to the scene and found Vanessa Fleming, 51, of Du Quoin.

The Perry County coroner was called to the scene and pronounced Fleming deceased.

Perry County Sheriff's Office and Coroner's Office are investigating the incident as a self inflicted gunshot.

Du Quoin Police assisted with the investigation.
