County denies catastrophic leave request
The Perry County Board of Commissioners Thursday denied catastrophic leave for Animal Control officer Danny Queen following a brief executive session. Commissioner Sam Robb said the board considered past practices before making their decision.
Chairman Bobby Kelly said that the board has made the same decision in previous cases.
Queen will be encouraged to exhaust all of his regular leave time then reapply.
In other business the board:
• passed a resolution approving a raffle license for Du Quoin Old Vs. New Football fundraiser.
• passed a resolution approving deeds of conveyance on trustee-owned property to Gregory A. Woods and Jeffrey Scholebo.
• passed a resolution approving a deed of re-conveyance to Perry County. A property owner who had worked out a payment plan with Joseph Meyer, the county's delinquent tax agent, failed to make payments on the plan.
• welcomed Tory Woods, who is replacing Mary Gerrish in County Clerk Josh Gross's office. Gerrish is retiring.
