District 13 Master Sergeant David Sneed Retires

Master Sergeant David Sneed, of Benton, retired from the Illinois District 13 State Police command at Du Quoin last week, having served 14 years in District 13, the last seven as the command's education and public relations officer.

A luncheon was held for him Wednesday and included several presentations.

At his side were Master Sergeant Ray Minor of District 13 and Trooper Brian Rawls of District 19.

Sneed says he will focus on his work at the Third Baptist Church in Benton, on his work at the Benton Civic Center and as one of the Show-Me Clowns for the Jesus National Conference.

Master Sergeant Sneed was a valuable resource to Southern Illinois media in law enforcement education and incident reporting.

A large reception was attended by approximately 40 officers and staff.
