Seth Snider has returned home

Ten-year-old Seth Snider, son of Terry and Lori Snider of Chester, has returned home after a long stay in the hospital.

He was involved in a bicycle and vehicle accident on Oct. 14. Seth was riding his bicycle on Garfield near Country Farm Road when the accident happened.

Seth was first taken to Memorial Hospital in Chester and was later airlifted to St. Louis's Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital where he was in critical, but stable condition. He was later transferred to Rankin Jorden Oct.25.

He returned home on Friday, Nov. 23.

He is having some short-term memory problems, but Lori Snider, his mother, said he is recovering quickly. He still has many hurdles to overcome through therapy. His family members say they are very happy to have him home.

There is a benefit planned for Seth and his family 4 p.m. to midnight Feb. 2 at the American Legion. There will be a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Adult donation admission will be $7; kids 12 and under, $5; and under 5 will be free.

There will also be a silent auction, 50/50, and a quilt raffle. All bids will close at 7:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 8 p.m. Music will follow the drawings.

If you, or anyone, group, organization, would like to donate an item for the silent auction, you may contact Cindy Welton or Mariah Bargman.
