Four Injured in Rt. 51 Wreck South of Tamaroa

Four persons were injured in a 2:38 p.m. accident Thursday at the intersection of Rt. 51 south of Tamaroa and Kimzey Road. Sheriff's Department Deputy Mike Schneider said a Union Pacific Railroad crane truck driven by Joshua Meye, 30, of Perryville, Mo. was turning onto Kimzey Road from Rt. 51. A passenger car driven by Alex Valenzuela, 20, of Oswego, Ill. was attempting to pass the truck as it was turning and collided with it in the driver's side at the intersection. Valenzuela was taken by ambulance to Marshall Browning Hospital. Passenger Calizta R. Ropdriguez was airlifted by Arch Medical Services to St. Louis University Hospital. Two minors were taken to Marshall Browning Hospital. Another passenger Carlos Martinez, 19, was not transported.
