Five Cars Stolen From Downtown Du Quoin

A 27-year-old Du Quoin man has been charged with the theft of one car from downtown Du Quoin Saturday evening and is a suspect in other car thefts and car break-ins about the same time.

Du Quoin Chief of Police Mike Ward said Joshua L. Summers, 27, a South Division Street resident, has been charged with the theft of a late model Pontiac Vibe owned by Greg and Cheryl Bigham of Pinckneyville and driven by daughter Macy Bigham. The car was stolen from in front of some North Division Street apartments Saturday night, then wrecked when Summers allegedly drove it into a utility pole. The car was towed by Watts Towing of Du Quoin.
